Vikramaditya's Jugedment

STORY WITH A MORAL........!!

VIKRAMADITYA'S JUDGEMENT...!!

*Once there lived an old and pious man, renowned for his honesty. One day  his neighbor, a rich merchant comes to him with a request. The merchant was  leaving on a voyage and wants the old man to safeguard his wealth, until his  return. The old man agrees and with God as witness promises to protect and  safeguard the merchant's wealth. *

*The old man then entrusts the safe keep of the merchant's wealth to his son, from whom he takes an oath of propriety and honesty. Slowly the son starts dipping into the merchants wealth, people notice this and warn the old man of the son's misdeeds. The old man calls his son asks him to explain, he also reminds him of his oath on following the right path. The son rubbishes the accusations as rumors and the idle gossip of jealous people, who could not bear to see his prosperity. The old man accepts the son's explanation and things go on as before.*

*The merchant returns and demands his wealth. The old man calls his son, who hands over a quarter of the merchant's wealth saying that is all there was. The merchant realizing that he has been cheated approaches the King. The King listens to the merchant's complaint and summons the old man. The old man comes to the court with his son and handing him over to the King says "your majesty, the merchant is right. My son has confessed to the crime. Please punish him."*

*The king has the son flogged and imprisoned. He then praises the old mans honesty and dismisses the case. But the merchant demands punishment for the old man saying, "I have still not received justice. I had entrusted my wealth to the old man which he swore by God to safeguard. The old man's integrity is intact, but what of me, I have been robbed of my life's savings, and made a pauper. It was the old man's decision to entrust my wealth to his son for safe keeping that has caused this loss. As far as I am concerned the old man is the real culprit, and should be punished.*

*The king is astounded by this demand. The old man, was neither a party to the theft nor did he benefit from it. In fact, he had sent his son to jail. Yet, the merchant was asking for the old man's punishment.*

*The Betal asks Vikramaditya, "What should be the Kings decision."*

*Vikramaditya's replies, "Though the old man is innocent of the actual theft, he is guilty of dereliction of duty. The son's crime was a straight forward one, the old man's was a graver crime. He did nothing to protect the merchant's wealth. Far from being vigilant he failed to take action even when he was warned of his son's misdeeds. Because of his laxity the merchant is condemned to a life of penury. He should be punished."

NOW TRY TO SEE THE HAPPENINGS IN INDIA & 2G SCAM IN LIGHT OF THE ABOVE STORY:

*India 2010, Dr. Manmohan Singh, esteemed economist, former Governor of RBI, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, former Finance Minister, a man whose personal ethics and integrity are unblemished, takes oath to protect and safeguard the Nation and its assets. He appoints Raja, as his Cabinet Minister for IT & Telecom.*

* Unlike the story, this heist of a precious national asset is carried out in full view of Dr. Manmohan Singh and his cabinet colleagues. Newspapers across the country cry out at this outrage in front page headlines.*

* The Indian Constitution grants the Prime Minister absolute power in running the country. He is the head of the Government and the Union Cabinet functions at his pleasure. As per the Transaction of Business Rules the Prime Minister has the unrestricted right to demand and get any file, any record from any Ministry. Dr. Man Mohan Singh could have at any time stopped this heist of a National asset, yet he chose to remain silent. The Minister's failure to exercise his constitutional rights has caused irreparable loss to the Nation.*

 * Dr. Singh did not profit personally from Raja's shenigans, but his failure to act, to honor the oath of office, to protect and safeguard the nation and its wealth is unforgivable. Like the old man, he has sacked Raja from his ministerial berth, but does his culpability end there.*

 * The people of India had entrusted their faith and the future of the Nation in Dr. Manmohan Singh, believing him to be a man of integrity and honesty, and not to Raja. Does dismissing Raja absolve Dr. Singh or like the old man is he guilty of dereliction of duty and failure to safeguard the Nation and its citizens. Does he deserve punishment?*who can decide here?.....

fake mails and frauds increasing

Dear friends,
The menace of getting fake mails has increased. I understand after talking to the people from whom weare getting the fake mails, I understand that many of them have fallen for the tricks of some people who asked their personal details claiming that 'they are verifying the accounts and they are from Yahoo, hotmail etc.'
I also understand from some experts in software industry that they can get generated by a virus also.
Today I received fake mail that he is looted in UK and he needs money immediately and help is necessary. Hence, this is to share the information and suggesting you to be alert.
Apart from 'not falling prey to some tricksters' and 'keep changing the password regularly', if there is anything that we can do to prevent such problems, the experts may kindly share the information.

Another fraud is taking place as follows:
We get calls claiming that they are from a particular Credit Card team. They keep asking you some details. Even if we say 'we are not interested', they keep persisting over the pretended marketing call. Today, I received a phone call saying that they are from Standard Chartered Bank team and they are promoting an insurance policy to safeguard 'loss of credit / debit cards' and 'misutilisation to an extent of 20 lacs by those who have stolen the card / password' etc. Even after saying 'not interested' he persisted to say that they will give a trial period and I should give the numbers of all the credit cards and debit cards. I think that will be the end of the life of the person. The number is noted. But, how to report and get it verified whether it is from their team is an involved work; but, I am doing it.

I thought it would be benefitial to share such information and getting alerted.

Sand and Stone

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING
THROUGH THE DESERT.
DURING SOME POINT OF THE
JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN
ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND
SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE
IN THE FACE.

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED
WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT
SAYING ANYTHING,
WROTE IN THE SAND:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

THEY KEPT ON WALKING,
UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS,
WHERE THEY DECIDED
TO TAKE A BATH

THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN
SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE
MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING,
BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM
THE NEAR DROWNING,
HE WROTE ON A STONE:

"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SAVED MY LIFE ".

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED
AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND
ASKED HIM, "AFTER I HURT YOU,
YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW,
YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?"

THE FRIEND REPLIED
"WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US

WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN
IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF
FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY.
BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES
SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,
WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE
WHERE NO WIND
CAN EVER ERASE IT."

LEARN TO WRITE
YOUR HURTS IN
THE SAND AND TO
CARVE YOUR
BENEFITS IN STONE.

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky.

The worst had happened ~everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. God, how could you do this to me he cried. Early the next day, however, he was wakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island.

It had come to rescue him. How did you know I was here asked the weary man of his rescuers. We saw your smoke signal, they replied.

It's easy to get discouraged sometimes when things appear to be going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little
hut is burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer for it.

Share this on, you never know whose life may be in need of this today. There are some times that we all feel our huts are burning.

Give your Best to Relationships

A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles.
The girl had some sweets with her.

The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets.
The girl agreed.

The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl.
The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised.

That night, girl slept peacefully.
But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden
some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble.

If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, always keep
doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent..

This is applicable for any relationship like love, employer-employee relationship etc.
Give your hundred percent to everything you do and sleep peacefully.

Saving and Growing

With each passing day, despite promises to the contrary by government officials, any respite from high inflation appears a remote possibility. No wonder, the only way to survive is to tighten the purse strings while constantly scanning any opportunity to save.

The financial advisory space, too, is abuzz with recommendations to make investments that will beat inflation. However, amidst the plethora of glitzy and complex investment products, the simpler options are often given a miss.

Though there is no reason to ignore the advice from experts, it would also be worthwhile to look at the more humble, uncomplicated alternatives before setting your sights on the latest 'sophisticated' or 'customized' products.

To start with, you could delve into your safe or cupboard and take out the account-opening kit or any privileges/benefits manual from your bank, or simply, visit the bank's website. Several banks offer a feature that is often termed the sweep-in , sweep-out facilities to their account holders .

These are touted by banks as hybrid schemes combining the best features of a savings account and a fixed deposit. Essentially, these are projected as facilities that can make your idle cash work for you by fetching returns over and above the savings bank rate of 3.5% per annul.

However, the features are not always uniform across the banks, which means that you need to take a close look at the fine print before signing up for this facility. Here's what you need to know about sweep-in , sweep-out facilities to get the best out of them.

Typically, the amount not required by an individual in the foreseeable future is transferred to a fixed deposit or directed towards other investments. They generally keep a higher amount in their savings bank account than what may be required, as the tendency is to err on the safer side.

After all, nobody likes the idea of breaking a fixed deposit. At the same time, this concern over the possible penalty keeps them away from the returns they would have surely earned had the amount been directed to a fixed deposit instead.

This is where the sweep-in-sweep-out kind of facilities come in - banks promote this facility as a one-point solution for this dilemma . They ensure both liquidity and the scope to earn the rate of interest available to the bank's regular fixed-deposit holders.

Banks have been regularly making attempts to popularize this facility amongst their customers, resulting in some success . "Sweep-out contributes to around 10% to the total FDs booked in a month and Super Saver contributes to around 1% to the total FD base,"

Generally, when you decide to opt for the facility, a fixed deposit is linked to your savings account. You have to determine a threshold for the balance to be maintained in your savings account at all times. Any amount exceeding this limit then gets automatically 'swept out' to this fixed deposit.

However, depending on the bank and even the account type, there could be variations in the structure. "For instance, the bank could allow the customer to determine this limit as long as it is above a certain amount versus the limit being pre-fixed by the bank," says Harsh Roongta, CEO, Apnapaisa.com. "Also, the fixed deposits could be in bundles of say Rs 1,000 rather than a lump-sum deposit of the amount."

This apart, some facilities of this sort could allow the accountholder to determine the duration of the fixed deposit as against the tenure being decided by the bank.

Take, for instance, SBI's Savings Plus Account, where the accountholder can choose the tenure of the deposit from one year to five years. In contrast, Kotak Mahindra Bank's Activmoney facility works differently . Here, the balance above a threshold in the current/savings account is transferred to a term deposit with a 181-day-tenure . In case of insufficient funds in the current/savings account, funds in the term deposit are swept into the former. The sweep in/out has to be in units of Rs 10,000.

Enlightened person and self

Dear Friends,

Most of us  always work with devotion, very hard, very smart for our own progress and betterment of our family. We are always busy in our work however; the life always may not turn to our expectation.

Our desires, goals seem to run away from us. On many occasions, we feel surrounded by problems without our fault. And at this juncture what we all do?  We all start a blame game. We feel helpless and try to blame others, luck, parents and so on. We go to the extent of stamping the world is a bad place and selfish.

Let me be frank with you, I also used to do the same for many years.

However, an enlightened person corrected my earlier thoughts as mentioned above.

I am providing you an opportunity to converse with the enlightened person who is full of wisdom. He took a challenge and hence, has been assigned with this responsibility to talk with you.

Enlighten person: Dear Friends. I want to talk to you.

Friends:  I am too busy. Is it regarding business? Who are you?

Enlighten person: This is the ENLIGHTEN PERSON. Nitin, asked me to talk to you. Therefore, I thought I would speak with you. I tried many a times, but found you to be always occupied and praying to almighty.

Friends: I do pray God every day.

Enlighten person: Why do you pray to God every day and what do you ask from almighty?

Friends: I pray to God as told to me by my parents and various Shastris, Gurus, Pandits and fortune readers. It just makes me feel good and I hope, one day God will be happy with me and provide everything I want in my life. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

Enlighten person: Your friend Nitin, has asked me to talk with you. (in spite of you being busy as usual) By the way what are you busy at?

Friends: Don't know. However, I can't find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

Enlighten person: Sure. Activity gets you busy. However, productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Friends: I understand. However, I still can't figure out.  By the way, I was not expecting this call from you. I am surprised.

Enlighten person: Well I wanted to help and resolve your misunderstanding! Fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this homo sapience world (modern human being), I wanted to reach you instantly through the medium you are used to and comfortable with.

Friends: Is it so? Tell me, why has life become complicated for me?

Enlighten person: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated. The more you analyse, the more you paralyse your mind.

Friends: Why are we then constantly unhappy?

Enlighten person: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That is why you are not happy.

Friends: But how can we not worry when there is so much of uncertainty in life?

Enlighten person: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Friends: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.

Enlighten person: Pain is inevitable able, but suffering is optional.

Friends: If suffering is optional, why do good people like me always suffer?

Enlighten person: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience, their life becomes better and not bitter.

Friends: You mean to say such experience is useful.

Enlighten person: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. This teaching gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Friends: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can't we be free from problems?

Enlighten person: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks, they do Offer Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

Friends: Frankly, in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading.

Enlighten person: If you look outside, you will not know where you are heading. It is always better to look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you are awaken. Eyes provide sight. Brain provides insight.

Friends: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

Enlighten person: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Friends: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

Enlighten person: Always look at how far you have come rather than worrying on how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Friends: What surprises you about people?

Enlighten person: When they suffer, they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me". Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.

Friends: Sometimes I ask, who I am and why am I here? I can't get the answer.

Enlighten person: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here, rather  create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.

Friends: How can I get the best out of life?

Enlighten person: Face your past without regret and if possible do not get involved in past at all. You must handle your present with confidence and prepare for the future without fear.

Friends: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers to God are not answered.

Enlighten person: There are no unanswered prayers. God is within you and within others. So introspect rather than standing in serpentine queue for 20 seconds Darshan of God. If you leave everything on God to protect, help you, my friend you are destroying your life.  At times the answer you get is NO, which means, temporary you might encounter failures.

Friends: Thank you for this wonderful conversation with you. I have taped it and saved in my PC. I will definitely go through this conversation regularly and wherever required, I will change my thought process, for my own betterment.

Enlighten person: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me.  Life is wonderful if you know how to live. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that took our breath away!

Friends: It was great speaking with you.

Enlighten person: As I need to talk with all email recipients, I need to stop here. I also need to provide feedback to Mr. Nitin, if possible drop in an email to him. He keeps a track/record of my calls with people. I also do have target like you and need to finish it at the earliest. I am no different from you.

Enjoy the LIFE
